    At the front, the Mac Ride clamps to a pre-installed spacer that is fitted on your steerer tube. The rear clamp mounts to your seat post. This contactless frame mounting system is ideal when used on carbon bike frames or e-bikes with large down tubes (adapter required)

  • MAC RIDE BIKE FIT COMPATIBILITY CHECK

    The Mac Ride Child Bike Seat is compatible with many kinds of bike frames using cycling industry standardized components. There are a few exceptions, like e-bikes and city cruisers or hybrids that will require adapters. Here’s a quick guide to determining your bike compatibility. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact a Bambino Gear Expert to help you!

    STEERER TUBE CHECK

    Confirm your steerer tube diameter measurement is the 1 ⅛” is standard* and has an existing 10mm spacer under the stem with 5mm clearance above and below. Make note if your stem is 50mm or shorter with a drop that might affect clearance. Click here for a short video on installing the headset spacer.

    *If your steerer tube is ⅞”, 1”, or 1 ¼” you will need an adapter. If you have a Trek with Knock Block or Scott with Syncros you will need an adapter. 1 ½” steerer tubes are not compatible with the Mac Ride.

    FRAME CHECK

    Check the toptube and downtube width measurements. Mac Ride fits on frames that are 68mm or less in width without an added spacer adapter.

    If your frame size is larger than 68mm width then you will need the e-bike adapter. This comes in Wide (102 mm) and Extra Wide (122 mm).

    SEAT POST CHECK

    Mac Ride works with dropper posts and standard seat posts. When using a dropper it must be mounted to the lower part of the seat post that inserts into your bike frame, above the seat post clamp on the frame.

    All you need is 20mm of exposed seatpost to clear any hardware on a dropper post. (Never attach your Mac Ride to the “dropper” stanchion of the seatpost)

    ◄How do I install and assemble my Mac Ride?

    Your Mac Ride will come with a detailed set of instructions to walk you through installation, linked here. If you have any questions please feel free to contact a Bambino Gear Expert and they’ll be happy to help.

    ◄What if my bike requires an adapter?
    Mountain bike, road bike, gravel bike, beach cruiser, e-bike, steel classic, micro folder, you name it, if it's a bike the Mac Ride will fit it! Since bikes come in all shapes and sizes they sometimes require special adapters or spacers. If you're not sure which is the correct adapter for your bike, please don't hesitate contacting a Bambino Gear Expert to assist you.
    • Common sizes include 1 1/8" (2 are included with the seat), 1 1/4", 1" or 7/8" Quill stem adapters, and the Trek Knock Block spacer.
    ◄How do I know if my child is ready for a bike seat?
    Each child develops at their own pace, so we like to use other developmental markers to guide parents to answer the question, “when can you ride with your child on a bike?”
    • #1 rule - if your child is too small for a helmet, then you have to wait till they are bigger. No helmet = no go in our book. Same goes for hand strength, they need to be strong enough to hold the handlebars and support themselves.
    • Mac Ride is recommended for riders ages 2-5 and up to 60lbs. There are some exceptions of children 18-20 months old that are strong enough to and ready to ride the Mac Ride. Just make sure they are able to listen and communicate with you as there are times you need to instruct them to “hold on tight” when riding trails.
    • Inseam measurements range from 23cm at the smallest setting up to 32cm for the largest setting. If your child’s inseam measurement is less than 23cm you’ll have to wait a little longer.
    ◄What’s your warranty/return policy?
    The Mac Ride Child Bike Seat is covered by a 2 Year Warranty against manufacturer or material defects. Please contact Bambino Bikes directly if you have any questions.

    ◄How will Mac Ride Ship?
    Your Mac Ride seat will be shipped to you directly from the manufacturer in Victoria B.C. Canada. There is a $25 flat rate shipping charge on seats using a standard USPS service. Orders are processed within 48 hours of being received.

Amazingly thoughtful product

Getting to share the joy of the outdoors with one's kid is such a wonderful experience, and the MacRide team really deserves every bit of kudos for making this a possibility. Thoughtful design, strong durable materials and an easy-to-use design all make for truly delightful products. I spent a lot of time exploring various other products on the market, nothing could beat the simplicity and elegance of the MacRide. Super happy to have found this gem of a product!

Worth all 25,000 pennies :)

While not cheap, it’s worth every penny. My son and I have had an absolute blast mtn biking together. I did a ton of research and chose the Macride after comparing to many other options. So glad I did! The Macride is very easy and quick to install/uninstall and very high quality. I was initially a little concerned about my 2 year old falling off (before purchasing) but after the first ride I was impressed with how safe it feels. My son absolutely loves it and gets so excited every time I mention riding the bike. I would definitely recommend this product and look forward to all the fun to be had mtn biking with my son. Thanks Macride! Great product!
