Size Guide

Proper bike fit and helmet fit is very important not only for safety, but skill building as well. A bike that is too big or too small will hinder skill development. The following sections contain detailed information about how to measure and select the right size for all products we carry at Bambino.

Bixbi Bikes
Bixbi Bikes Classic 12 and MTB 12 balance bikes are ideal for children ages 2-5 years old with an inseam measurement of 12" to 19" (with addition of the LowRider kit). To determine the best fit, follow the measurement guide below.

  • Step 1 - Gather your tools
    • You’ll need a book, a measuring tape, and your child in their favorite pair of shoes.
  • Step 2 - Measure
    • Have your child stand against a wall, place the book between their legs and raise the book up until it hits their crotch. Measure from the top of the book (make sure to hold it level) to the floor.
  • Step 3 - Find your size
    • Subtract 0.5 inches from the measurement and that is the inseam measurement, or what is also called the “standover frame height” for your child (we recommend subtracting 0.5 inches from their inseam because you want your child to be able to place their feet flat on the ground when standing over the bike). See the below chart for best fit.

Kali Helmets
It’s important to correctly measure your child’s head to get the right size helmet. This is a simple process and takes just a few minutes.
  • Step 1 - Gather your tools
    • A flexible measuring tape, string, phone charger or something similar will work great (and a ruler to measure the length of string).
  • Step 2 - Measure
    • Wrap the measuring tape around your child's head just above their eyebrows and 1.5 cm above their ears. Mark the location of overlap to find the measurement.
  • Step 3 - Find Your Size
    • See the chart below to select your size. If your child is between sizes, size DOWN (it’s more important to have a proper fit for a helmet, than something they “will grow into” later).

Mac Ride Child Bike Seat
The Mac Ride Child Bike Seat is recommended for riders ages 2-5 years and up to 60 pounds. There are some exceptions of children 18-20 months old that are strong enough and ready to ride the Mac Ride. Inseam measurements range from 23cm (9") at the smallest setting up to 32cm (12.5") for the largest setting. If your child's inseam is less than 23cm (9") you'll have to wait a little longer.

ZippyRooz Gloves
To measure your child's hand size you'll need a flexible measuring tape.
  1. Measure the circumference of the hand (don't include the thumb), just below the knuckles.
  2. Measure the length of the middle finger.
  3. Refer to the below size chart to select the correct size. If they're between sizes, please size up!

Bambino Clothing

When selecting the best fit for clothing, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Use a piece of clothing that fits great already to compare measurements. Measure the clothing you have and compare that to the below size charts.
  2. When in doubt, size up, your kids are growing like a beanstalk!
  3. Measure three times and order once :)
  4. Check the below size guides for exact measurements.
