Written by Ryan, Co-Founder of Bambino Bikes

I didn’t really start riding bikes until I was 15 years old. I had a hand-me-down bike and occasionally rode around the neighborhood and to school. In high school, I made a few friends that were into riding bikes on local trails and occasionally went to a local race, which I didn’t even know was a thing! A whole new world began to open up right in front of my eyes. From that moment on, bikes changed my life. It made me a healthier person mentally, physically and socially. It helped me make lifelong friends, and ultimately, it gave me a purpose.

When my son was born I knew I wanted to share my love of cycling with him, but what I didn’t realize is just how much it would mean to him and how much it would help him learn, develop and explore the world around him. Seeing how cycling has become an integral part of his life made me realize that bikes should be more accessible for all people and families.

Our mission at Bambino Bikes is to help families adventure together on two wheels. That means there are 4 main pillars we maintain with our business:

Bikes help kids learn,
so get more kids on bikes!
Share the love by
handing down used bikes
We give back because
it is the right thing to do
Trail advocacy is in our roots,
we protect and grow trail access

This is why we support foundations like Grow Cycling - we want to break down the barriers of getting people on bikes at any age.

We've selected Grow Cycling Foundation because their mission is to make bikes and riding more inclusive, more diverse and more accessible for all.

“Grow Cycling Foundation was created in light of the 2020 George Floyd protests. In recognition that the cycling world is not immune from a culture of exclusivity and racism, the founders felt a need to help focus the call to action within their own community. Grow Cycling Foundation was established to create new avenues for inclusive community building and career development in the cycling industry as well as empower existing programs working to tear down the barriers to entry in cycling for marginalized communities.”
