We don’t have retail locations to test a bike at, but we do have our 30 Day Ride Happy Guarantee! If you receive your bike and it’s just not working out, you have the option to return the bike within 30 days of purchase. You can read more about our return policy HERE.

No can do. We have a “NO Training Wheels” policy here at Bambino Bikes for a few reasons. Training wheels or “stabilizers” are doing the work of balancing for the rider, which completely defeats the purpose of learning how to balance on a bike! Your child should be learning the most important skill, which is balance, and training wheels completely remove this from the equation, making the rider dependent on them. This dependency can actually become dangerous on larger bikes that carry more speed, preventing the rider from being able to properly maneuver the bike around or over obstacles.

Of course! Your child will be so excited when they get their very own bike WITH their name on it! Before adding your bike to the cart look for the PERSONALIZE IT button. Click the button and it will open the product personalizer tool where you can enter your child’s name, pick the style of font, and the color. Your selection will automatically be added to your order at checkout.

The Mac Ride Child Bike Seat is compatible with many kinds of bike frames using cycling industry standardized components. There are a few exceptions, like e-bikes and city cruisers or hybrids that will require adapters. Here’s a quick guide to determining your bike compatibility. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact a Bambino Gear Expert to help you!

STEP 1 - STEERER TUBE CHECK

Confirm your steerer tube diameter measurement is the 1 ⅛” is standard* and has an existing 10mm spacer under the stem with 5mm clearance above and below. Make note if your stem is 50mm or shorter with a drop that might affect clearance. Click here for a short video on installing the headset spacer.

*If your steerer tube is ⅞”, 1”, or 1 ¼” you will need an adapter. If you have a Trek with Knock Block or Scott with Syncros you will need an adapter. 1 ½” steerer tubes are not compatible with the Mac Ride.

STEP 2 - FRAME CHECK

Check the toptube and downtube width measurements. Mac Ride fits on frames that are 68mm or less in width without an added spacer adapter.

If your frame size is larger than 68mm width then you will need the e-bike adapter. This comes in Wide (102 mm) and Extra Wide (122 mm).

STEP 3 - SEAT POST CHECK

Mac Ride works with dropper posts and standard seat posts. When using a dropper it must be mounted to the lower part of the seat post that inserts into your bike frame, above the seat post clamp on the frame.

All you need is 20mm of exposed seatpost to clear any hardware on a dropper post. (Never attach your Mac Ride to the “dropper” stanchion of the seatpost)

Setting up your Mac Ride once it arrives is an easy process! If you have any questions about fit or assembly please contact a Bambino Gear Expert and we’ll be happy to help!

Assembly & Maintenance

Typically all you will have to do is install the handlebars, front wheel and put air in the tires. Bikes come supplied with complete instructions and any tools that you might need. If you need any assistance with bike assembly please contact a Bambino Gear Expert and we’ll be happy to help!

Click HERE for our assembly instructions pages.

For balance bikes specifically we recommend about 15-25 PSI depending on your child’s weight. The nice thing about pneumatic tires is that you can adjust the pressure. Lower pressure will have a softer/smoother ride and a higher pressure will have a faster/harder ride. You can set it to your child’s preference.

Click HERE for our assembly instructions pages.

The best thing you can do for your bike is keep it clean! With balance bikes there are very few moving parts, and those that do move have sealed bearings.

Before every ride an adult should check the bike to make sure all bolts are properly tightened and there is the correct amount of air in the tires.

If the handlebars on your child’s bike are not straight it’s a quick fix. Start by loosening the two pinch bolts located on the stem with a 5mm allen hex key. Hold the front wheel and turn the handlebars until the stem lines up with the front wheel (do this while standing over the bike, looking down at the front wheel). Tighten the two stem bolts to the recommended torque specifications.
