Who is Bixbi Bikes?

Bixbi Bikes is one of those little niche brands that you’d never otherwise hear about... They aren’t big on marketing and they don’t have a huge social media presence, they just like to make really, really good balance bikes for kids. We wanted to take a minute to introduce you to Bixbi Bikes because they’re great people making awesome bikes!

Bixbi Bikes was founded by two dads with a passion for bikes. It started in Canada six years ago when their kids were of the age to start riding. They went looking for a small bike for their kids to learn on, but didn’t like the options available. So, they decided to make their own!

The founders of Bixbi Bikes are bike industry veterans, so naturally they decided to make their own balance bikes using the knowledge they have about bike design and their industry connections. Before they knew it they had people asking where they could get one for their child and a personal project turned into a small side gig of making an awesome balance bike that kids actually want to ride! A lot has happened since then and their kids are older now, but the original idea for a balance bike that looks and rides like a real bike lives on.

Why haven’t I heard of Bixbi Bikes before?

Bixbi Bikes is a passion project, the founders focus on the quality of the bike and production, which doesn’t leave much time for social media, marketing, and the likes thereof. Bixbi Bikes is actually very popular in Taiwan and Japan since the founders live and work in Taiwan after their careers took them abroad. Overseas, Bixbi Bikes is synonymous with Strider Bikes here in the US. Bixbi Bikes have a large retailer network in Asia, devoted fans and even have Bixbi Cup races that are quite competitive! You can check out a few highlights from the races here. We partnered with Bixbi Bikes to bring them to North America and help support their marketing efforts since that’s more of our speciality here at Bambino Bikes, it’s a match made in bike heaven!

Why do Bixbi Bikes cost more?

Bixbi Bikes are more expensive than other options out there, but it’s for good reason. Bixbi Bikes are all about quality, from the frame material to the paint color choices. Every aspect of the bike is methodically thought over, down to the bolts that hold it together and all the custom components designed specifically for little riders. There are a lot of quality details you’ll find as you look at the Bixbi Bike.

Bixbi Bikes will last through the use of several riders, are toddler torment tested for quality, and are the best tool to establish the foundation of balance and bike riding for your child. All parts on a Bixbi Balance Bike are replaceable, this is not a 1-time use bike. And once your child has moved onto a pedal bike, that’s ok, because a Bixbi Bike looks darn cool when it’s hung on the wall as memorabilia (or passed onto the next toddler rider in your life).

And that’s the story of how Bixbi Bikes came to be… an idea that turned into a passion project! If you have any questions about Bixbi Bikes and their balance bikes, let us know, we’re happy to help.
